Haupt Horses Inc. is a full-service hunter/jumper training and boarding program based at Lone Meadow Stables in Carp, Ontario, just outside Ottawa. We offer professional training, sales, and quality boarding for horses and riders of all levels.

Our program is built on exceptional horsemanship, individualized training, and outstanding horse care. Whether your goals are competitive success in the show ring or developing a confident partnership at home, we are committed to helping every horse and rider reach their full potential in a supportive, professional environment.

The Team

  • Head Trainer & Rider

    Amara's passion for horses began at the age of four after attending her first summer riding camp. From that moment on, she was hooked. Since then, she has dedicated herself to building a career in the sport, with the long-term goal of one day representing Team Canada.

    Amara spent her junior years competing in eventing, where she had the opportunity to train under Canadian Team riders Karl Slezak and Jessica Phoenix. By the age of 17, she was successfully competing at the FEI CIC** level. The diversity and horsemanship required in eventing laid the foundation for the training philosophy she still carries today—developing confident, athletic, and well-rounded horses through strong fundamentals.

    In 2015, Amara made the transition to the hunter/jumper discipline and moved to Europe to train with Grand Prix rider Nina Fagerström. Her time overseas provided invaluable experience, exposing her to top-level international competition while broadening her knowledge of horse development, training, and professional stable management. The experience continues to influence her approach to producing horses and coaching riders today.

    Since returning to North America, Amara has successfully developed multiple horses to the Modified Grand Prix level while helping riders of all ages and experience levels achieve their goals. She is currently focused on developing a competitive string of horses with aspirations of advancing to the next level of the sport.

    In addition to her equestrian career, Amara is a graduate of Algonquin College's Fitness and Lifestyle Management program.

  • Barn Manager & Assistant Trainer

    Kianna's passion for horses began at a young age, competing throughout the Gold and Silver hunter/jumper divisions. As both a rider and competitor, she developed a strong foundation in horsemanship while gaining valuable experience in the show ring.

    At just 14 years old, Kianna earned her first grooming position and quickly discovered a passion for the behind-the-scenes dedication required to produce successful competition horses. Throughout her junior years, she worked as a competition groom for accomplished riders and trainers throughout the Ottawa area, developing an exceptional eye for detail and a deep understanding of high-level horse care and show preparation.

    As a young adult, Kianna had the opportunity to travel to Europe alongside Amara, working as a groom while training under Grand Prix rider Nina Fagerström. During her time overseas, she gained invaluable experience caring for high-performance horses and grooming at FEI-level competitions, further expanding her knowledge of elite horse care and international competition standards.

    In her role as Barn Manager and Assistant Trainer at Haupt Horses Inc., Kianna oversees the daily operations of the barn while supporting the training program both at home and in the show ring. She is now accepting coaching clients on the Trillium circuit, helping riders build confidence, strengthen their fundamentals, and achieve their competitive goals.

    Known for her exceptional attention to detail, calm approach, and unwavering dedication to horse care, Kianna is continually seeking opportunities to expand her knowledge and provide the highest standard of care for both horses and clients.

  • Property Manager & Groundskeeper

    Josh joined the Haupt Horses team in 2020 after helping build Lone Meadow Stables from the ground up. Growing up on his family's farm and working in the construction industry provided him with a diverse skill set and a strong work ethic that continues to be invaluable to the day-to-day operations of the property.

    As Property Manager, Josh is responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities, overseeing ongoing property improvements, and supporting the farm's agricultural operations. His dedication and hands-on approach help ensure that Lone Meadow Stables remains a safe , functional, and welcoming environment for both horses and riders.
